Wow!

It HAS been a long time! Honestly, I think we had all forgotten about our little blog...so here we go again.

I see that my last post was in 2008. I'm guessing that was around the time we discovered Facebook, and thus everything else fell to the wayside. Facebook has been great for reconnecting with old friends, staying in touch with friends and family, and sharing photos...but alas, it DOES get overwhelming. I am currently on a much needed break from FB, and Kirk is rarely on there.

Our family relocated to Portland, OR in January 2013. My position with my employer was moved to corporate, so we decided after much family discussion that we should move along with it. We are all adjusting, but the first 60 days were very rough.

Talia is making friends at her new school, taking 2 dance classes, and joining a Junior Girl Scout Troop next month. She has been a real trooper through this whole process, and we couldn't be more proud of her! We can hardly believe she is 9 1/2, and she keeps reminding us that she will be in middle school the year after next.

I have adjusted to working in the office, and am really loving it! My co-workers are great and very patient with me as I learn.

Kirk is working currently in sales at Guitar Center...for those of you who know him, you know that music was his first love. He worked in management in a music store in Lansing, MI for many, many years, so this will be a good fit for him until something develops in the wine industry.

Overall, we are counting our blessings and are so thankful for all that we have. Remember, when times are tough, you always have your loved ones there for you. Take care.
